Located in sunny Portland, Oregon, Lightbox Kulturhaus is an independent dance space facilitating synesthetic experimentation and physical theater.
Since the Spring of 2011 the Lightbox aims to be an incubator of local culture, community dialogue, and intimate dance and theater performance. We seek to provide inspiration, education, and activation. We encourage the growth of art and creativity in Portland as a whole, and our intent is to provide a forum and a physical space for both.
The studio floor area is approximately 675 sq ft and is available for classes, workshops, photography rentals, meetings and special events. As a micro-theater/gallery we can host performance, film screenings and art exhibits. With ample natural light provided by three large skylights, the studio offers a beautiful daytime workshop or community room space. (Please note: Portland fire code sets our maximum capacity at 49.) Our space is adjacent to Tiny’s Coffee shop, for easy refreshments and breakfast/lunch options.
Please check out our rental rates, or send us a proposal of what you’re interested in bringing to the Lightbox!
